10 月 21 日，很多网站背后在用的编程语言 PHP 发布紧急安全更新，修补两个黑客不用登录就能远程控制网站服务器的漏洞，官方公告标题直接写着 update now。PHP 由公司的工程师负责更新，但这类消息一出来，IT 部门常会顺便发邮件提醒大家更新自己的电脑和手机，在外企工作的人收到的就是英语通知。这篇整理看懂这些通知、问 IT 要怎么处理、账号出状况时跟 IT 反映会用到的英语。

看到新闻说常用的软件有漏洞，不确定自己要不要处理，可以直接写邮件或发消息问 IT；IT 回复后，也可以转告同事。

vulnerability　漏洞

I read there's a vulnerability in Chrome. Do I need to do anything?	我看到新闻说 Chrome 有漏洞，我需要做什么吗？
IT says the vulnerability only affects older versions of Chrome.	IT 说这个漏洞只影响旧版的 Chrome。

We'll push a fix to everyone's laptop today.

我们今天会把修复推送到每个人的笔记本电脑。

IT 发来的通知邮件里，常用 critical 标出最严重的等级。不确定要多快处理，也可以用这个字问 IT。

critical　严重的（最高危险等级）

This update fixes a critical vulnerability in Chrome, so please install it today.	这次更新修复了 Chrome 的一个严重漏洞，请今天安装。
Is this a critical issue, or can it wait until next week?	这是严重问题吗？还是可以等到下周再处理？

收到更新通知，问 IT 怎么做

通知邮件要大家安装补丁，想确认期限，可以问 IT；同事问起为什么要装，也可以这样说。

Microsoft released a patch for the bug last night.	微软昨晚针对这个 bug 发布了补丁。

手机或电脑弹出英语的更新提示，可以这样提醒同事；更新跑太久，也可以问 IT。

update　更新

If your phone asks you to update, don't keep tapping “Later.”	手机弹出更新提示的时候，不要一直点 Later。
My laptop has been updating for an hour. Is that normal?	我的笔记本电脑已经更新一个小时了，这样正常吗？

Large updates can take a while. Keep it plugged in.

大型更新可能要一段时间，记得插着电源。

更新装到一半，电脑弹出要重启的提示，可以先问 IT 是不是一定要重开；想晚一点再重开，也可以跟 IT 说一声打算什么时候重开。

The sender's address looks suspicious. It says “micros0ft” with a zero.	发件人的地址看起来很可疑，写的是 micros0ft，里面是数字 0。

账号出状况，跟 IT 反映

发现邮箱或社交账号自己发出奇怪的消息，跟同事或朋友口头讲，用 got hacked。

got hacked　被黑、账号被盗（口语）

reset　重置

urgent 在《请年假、交接工作、设自动回复，英语怎么说？》那篇学过：This is urgent. I entered my password on that page.（这件事很紧急，我在那个页面输入了密码。）

举报奇怪的邮件：spam 和 phishing

Gmail 有“举报垃圾邮件”（Report spam）和“举报钓鱼邮件”（Report phishing）两个选项。spam 通常是大量发出的广告邮件；phishing 会假冒银行、公司或 IT，要你输入密码或个人信息。向 IT 反映时，广告邮件说 spam，骗密码的邮件说 phishing。
